More than 1,500 people in Alaska lost their homes earlier this week.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong brought hurricane-force winds and significant storm surge to coastal West Alaska, completely flooding several towns. The majority of these towns are small fishing communities, full of people who rely on the land for their livelihoods. Now, much of what they rely on has washed away along with their homes.

Convoy of Hope is responding, providing essential relief supplies such as food, water, hygiene supplies, and warm clothing to people in need as they shelter in Anchorage and Bethel, Alaska. Local resources are already spread thin.

“Thank you for not forgetting about Alaska,” said one of our partners on the ground.
