Today in Menasha, Neenah, and Appleton, Wisconsin, a severe tornado uprooted trees, downed power lines, flipped vehicles, and tore apart neighborhoods.
Families did not expect this degree of destruction; the twister hit only minutes after they received the tornado warning. The National Weather Service quickly increased the warning to a rare Particularly Dangerous Situation Tornado Warning.
Thousands of people are now without power and have been restricted to their homes, with outside damage and debris too dangerous to travel through. Several flash flood warnings are active. Some areas in Fox Valley reported large hail. Churches and community buildings are opening as shelters for families caught outside — also giving them emergency relief from the summer heat.

The storm system is still moving, putting southeastern Wisconsin at risk of severe thunderstorms, hail, and additional tornado events.
Convoy of Hope is immediately reaching impacted communities with food and water, personal hygiene items, and cleanup supplies, including tarps and rakes. When an extreme disaster strikes, basic necessities can bring normalcy and comfort to survivors.
As families begin to recover their homes and belongings, Convoy will remain active, aiding Wisconsin during the days to come.
