In Nevada, some 90,000 people are evacuating as wildfires tear through the greater Reno area.
The area’s dry conditions, abundant grasses, and high winds have only increased the impact of the state’s five major wildfires currently active. While firefighters are working to contain the flames, at least three first responders have been injured, as well as three civilians.
Since Saturday, the Hawk fire — the state’s highest-priority fire — has burned more than 15,000 acres. The blaze is still 0% contained.
