Conference Attendees Celebrate Togetherness by Giving Back
“We really love coming back here to help anybody we can, especially with Convoy of Hope,” said Mike Star, Chair of Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA).
MSCA’s most recent project during their 11-year partnership with Convoy of Hope provided thousands of hygiene kits by means of a packing party held at the MSCA Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The annual conference is an event where those from the mechanical service industry can network, attend presentations, and participate in specially curated activities. This year’s conference sported the tagline, “Together at last.” Many attendees celebrated the opportunity to reunite by giving their time to pack hygiene kits for Convoy of Hope, which local organization Phoenix Rescue Mission would then distribute to unsheltered communities in Arizona.
“It’s been two long years,” said Mike. “Seeing friends and colleagues back out doing something like this is just so rewarding and great for not only myself, but the organization and all of our businesses.”
At the event, volunteers packed 5,000 hygiene kits in less than 3 hours. The kits included soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other essentials for distribution to underserved individuals.
“We love hosting a packing event with MSCA,” said Laura Tourville of Convoy of Hope’s Volunteer Engagement team. “They are incredibly hard workers and faithful to keep coming year after year, helping in whatever aspect they are needed in. We are thankful for such a long-standing partnership.”
