Drew Brees Teams Up With Convoy of Hope

USA Reported by Convoy of Hope

More than seven years ago, Hurricane Katrina left New Orleans devastated as more than 80% of the city went underwater. Many residents wondered where they could find hope in the midst of such adversity. Hope came from an unexpected place.

Following a season of playing all of their games on the road in 2005, the New Orleans Saints began a years-long quest which would eventually culminate in them becoming Super Bowl Champions in 2009. The victory meant more to the city than just a trophy, it was a sign that New Orleans had bounced back. Hope was renewed.

During the long march to the Super Bowl, Drew Brees — the Saints’ Super Bowl MVP quarterback — and his teammates carried the weight of the city on their shoulders and inspired countless fans. Convoy of Hope has partnered with Drew to bring help and hope to the shores of New York and New Jersey, which suffered catastrophic damage after Hurricane Sandy made landfall last fall.

To raise awareness for Hurricane Sandy relief we’re giving away four footballs that Drew autographed while he was with us filming our commercial to run on all domestic American Airlines flights in August.

Convoy of Hope is thankful to be serving with Drew and the Brees Dream Foundation as we continue our campaign to restore homes, lives and hope to our friends on the East Coast.
