A levee breach along Iowa’s Rock River early Saturday morning led to a frantic evacuation in the dark in the town of Rock Valley. Additionally, heavy rainfall caused significant flooding in South Dakota and Minnesota and worsened the flooding in Iowa.

Iowa’s governor, Kim Reynolds, says more than 1,900 properties have been damaged and more than 8,000 people are being sheltered. Governor Reynolds has issued a disaster emergency proclamation

The need won’t end when floodwaters recede and people begin to return home. Residents will need access to food, water, and other necessities as they clean up and start to repair and rebuild.

Convoy is there to ensure people are fed, have access to clean water, and know they are not alone. Donate to Convoy’s flood response here.
