Itโs hard to believe itโs been more than nine months since Hurricane Sandy came ashore in New York and New Jersey, causing more than $6 billion in damage. Weโre honored to have been on the ground responding with tractor-trailer loads of immediate relief supplies since day one.
Stacy Lamb, Field Services Director for our Disaster Services team, is facilitating a continuation of our efforts by meeting with families who survived Hurricane Sandy. Heโs on the ground to identify homeowners that Convoy of Hope can assist in the difficult rebuilding efforts they are facing.
Since the hurricane, 81 truckloads of relief supplies have been delivered to New York and New Jersey and weโve held multiple community outreaches that helped thousands of families โ but weโre not finished. Convoy of Hope has already distributed 22 truckloads of building materials that are being used by relief partners for reconstruction of damaged homes. In addition to providing relief supplies, weโre also planning efforts to provide gap funding to displaced families who are rebuilding in the New York and New Jersey areas.
Bottom line โ weโre not finished helping Sandy survivors.
