Convoy of Hope teamed up with Las Vegas Raiders tight end Derek Carrier, his wife Dora, and Hope Church to spread hope this holiday season. Several other Raiders players, including wide receiver Hunter Renfrow, helped at the event.

Guests of Honor received meals, groceries, children’s shoes, socks, family portraits, toys, breast health services, and other resources — free of charge.

“This is an awesome event,” Hunter said. “I’m just fired up to be here.”

“It’s just amazing to see the amount of love and support that we have in this community,” Derek added. “I think it’s also a testament to Convoy of Hope and the ability that they have to go throughout the world and positively affect communities.”

Throughout the event, hundreds of attendees received help during what can be a difficult season. Dora helped children create personalized ornaments. Derek, Hunter, and other players signed footballs for excited fans and children. Hundreds of people received haircuts and other services at the event.

Convoy of Hope provided an additional 1,500 bags of groceries to Hope Church for distribution to unsheltered members of their community after the event.

About the Carriers

Derek and Dora are long-time friends of Convoy of Hope. Dora serves Convoy of Hope through her business, EvergreenCollab, where she creates hands-on learning materials for children. Dora then donates a portion of the proceeds to Convoy of Hope.

“I think so many times in this world, we lose sight of what’s important,” Derek said. “When you really look at what lasts and what matters, that’s love and service to those who are disenfranchised, those who are in pain, and those who are suffering. That’s something that’s very near and dear to my heart.”

Thanks to the partnership with Derek, Dora, and Hope Church, events like this reach those in need of hope year-round. Convoy of Hope is grateful for those who make Community Events like this such a blessing to those who attend.

This event was also made possible through Convoy Nation™.
