A string of severe storms spawned several tornadoes in Oklahoma this weekend, with three in the Oklahoma City metro area alone. Convoy of Hope is on the ground in the impacted area distributing much-needed relief supplies such as food, water, totes, tarps, and hygiene kits.
Pictures show homes left in piles of debris, roofs torn off of schools, cars left in tangles of metal, and trees ripped from the ground.
Though peak tornado season in the Southern Plains is usually in the spring, cold fronts from the changing weather in the fall can mix with the lingering warm air and help create an atmosphere ideal for tornadoes. Thatβs why Convoy is always prepared to respond whenever and wherever disaster strikes.
Some disasters have predictable seasons, but despite the norm, disasters can happen any time. Ensure your family is prepared by downloading Convoyβs free Disaster Preparedness Guide
