Convoy of Hope Responds to Tropical Storm Erika

Distributions have begun in the impacted areas with an emphasis on the communities of Delice and Petite Savanne. Products distributed include two metric tons of rice, canned tuna, canned sardines, ramen noodles, milk, sugar, vegetable oil, and hygiene items.

September 3, 2015 | 11 a.m.

The Convoy of Hope Disaster Services team has arrived in Dominica to meet with local contacts and assess impacted areas. They also took water filtration systems that have the capacity to filter up to 3,600 gallons of water per day.

September 1, 2015 | 5 p.m.

Convoy of Hope is responding to Tropical Storm Erika that hit the small island of Dominica on Wednesday, August 26, triggering flooding and mudslides. Thousands of people have been affected and nearly half of the island is without electricity.

Twenty-five people died in the mudslides, which also destroyed roads, bridges, and homes. The Convoy of Hope Disaster Services team is en route to Dominica to distribute much-needed disaster relief supplies.
