In the Mathare Valley in Nairobi, Kenya, food, clothing, and education are hard to come by. That’s why Convoy of Hope partners with Mama Jane to feed children in need.
“It’s not easy to get even one meal,” Jane Nuthu said. Jane works with children in Mathare Valley and sees the need firsthand. But she also gets to see the smiles on children’s faces when they get a full, nutritious meal.“When they came to our program, it had a very great impact on their lives,” she said.
Now, more than 1,000 children in the area receive healthy meals every day they meet for school.
“The food is very balanced,” Faith, a student at the center, said. “It helps our bodies, it always gives us energy, and it even prevents us from being sick … I like this school very much!”
