North Texas Giving Day 2025

Reported by Convoy of Hope

Texas is a standout state in both size and population. Covering nearly 270,000 square miles, Texas is the largest state of the 48 contiguous states.

Only Alaska is larger.

Texas’ population of more than 29 million people is only surpassed by California’s 39.5 million.

The people of Texas stand out in another way — they care about their neighbors.

And there’s no better demonstration of that than North Texas Giving Day.

When Is North Texas Giving Day?

North Texas Giving Day is more than just a day. Although it culminates on Thursday, September 18, this year, the website for this year’s event opens on Thursday, August 28.

That gives three weeks for compassion-hearted people to make a difference for people in need across the state.

What Is North Texas Giving Day?

North Texas Giving Day is the brainchild of Communities Foundation of Texas and is that charity’s largest community initiative.

It stands as the charity’s premier community program and the country’s largest community-wide giving event.

Now celebrating 17 years, NorthTexasGivingDay.org serves as an expanding, all-in-one platform for supporting local communities — featuring cause-based campaigns, matching fundraisers, group giving, and nonprofit-hosted events.

Thanks to backing from givers and sponsors, Communities Foundation of Texas covers platform and processing costs, ensuring every dollar donated through the site goes directly to nonprofits serving more than 25 causes in 20 North Texas counties all year.

Partners Take North Texas Giving Day to the Next Level

White Rhino Coffee and Convoy of Hope are teaming up to make an even bigger giving impact on North Texas Giving Day and throughout September. Coffee aficionados will have the opportunity all month long at all White Rhino checkouts to make a round-up donation for Convoy of Hope’s flood response in Texas. White Rhino will donate the proceeds from a limited-edition merch collection to support Convoy’s compassion initiative. And, in a more hands-on approach, volunteers and employees will join packing parties at Roastery Café and Waxahachie to prepare 1,200 hygiene kits for distribution.

Following the devastating floods in early July, Convoy has been a faithful presence in the state. By the end of the month, Convoy had served nearly 20,000 people in eight communities, distributing more than 377,000 pounds of resources.
