Volunteer

How can Convoy of Hope continue to touch millions each year? Only through the combined efforts of our faithful volunteers!  If you are currently one of our volunteers, thank you for helping to deliver our promise of “Giving hope to the poor.” If you are a potential volunteer, there are many ways to get involved with Convoy of Hope!

Community Outreaches
Volunteers are the driving force behind each community outreach, from working a children’s game to sorting groceries. Participating in an outreach is often a life-changing experience for volunteers as they personally make a difference in the lives of our Honored Guests.

To get involved in an outreach in your area, check out our Upcoming Events Calendar and click on an outreach in your area. Contact the local coordinator to find out how you can help.

Springfield Area
If you are in the Springfield, Mo. area, there are volunteer opportunities at Convoy of Hope’s headquarters. Join us each Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for Hands of Hope. This regular volunteer project gives local volunteers the opportunity to see and work with many of Convoy of Hope’s relief loads before they go out.

Volunteers of all ages and skill levels can help with sorting, packing, counting, labeling and inventory. This is a great opportunity for civic and church groups, and a fun way for students to fulfill their community service hours for school. Children under 12 should be accompanied by a guardian or responsible group leader.

No pre-registration is required, but we appreciate being able to plan for large groups in advance. You can let us know you are coming, or ask any questions by calling us at 417 823-8998 or this form.

Disaster Response
Following major disasters, Convoy Go Teams work ‘on the ground’ to immediately assess damage, deliver supplies and remove debris in storm impacted towns. In addition, during non-response times, most teams are proactive in their local communities especially in the areas of training and preparedness. If you are interested in becoming part of a Go Team, please download and complete this Convoy Disaster Response Volunteer Application.

The Volunteer Application provides details on the types of volunteer teams available, as well as information on C.A.R.R.S., Convoy of Hope’s Amateur Radio Response Service. The purpose of the C.A.R.R.S. is to provide a system of support communication services to Convoy, affiliated agencies, and volunteer groups during commercial communication disruptions after major storms. For more information regarding C.A.R.R.S., visit us at http://www.k2car.net.

Our international teams share compassion with people around the world. These teams of volunteers from churches or other groups, work for 8-10 days helping those in need. To learn more about these group opportunities and for the approximate costs involved, please visit Convoy of Hope Teams or contact us here.
