BAKERSFIELD, CA — Convoy of Hope’s Disaster Services team sent a truckload of emergency relief supplies that was delivered late last week and distributed to families in need through our local partners. More than 2,500 affected residents were served at the point of distribution site in Bakersfield, California.

BAKERSFIELD, CA — Convoy of Hope is responding to the Erskine wildfire that has completely destroyed 200 homes and has caused mass destruction in Kern County, California. The fire has burned 45,000 acres and many families have lost everything. Reports suggest this is the state’s largest and most destructive wildfire this year.
“We are working with local partners in the area who are currently housing displaced residents to make sure they get the items they need,” says Stacy Lamb, U.S. Response Director for Disaster Services.
The first load of emergency relief supplies will deploy on Wednesday and will include food, water, sports drinks, hygiene kits, blankets, shoes, paper towels, and laundry detergent.
