Convoy Continues to Rebuild in Moore, Oklahoma

Convoy of Hope’s Disaster Services team continues to serve families in the Moore, Oklahoma, area who were affected by the tornadoes three years ago.

“During times of disaster we meet immediate needs,” says Hal Donaldson, president and co-founder for Convoy of Hope. “But we also meet long-term needs to help survivors rebuild their lives.”

Immediately following the storms, Convoy of Hope distributed emergency relief supplies to thousands of disaster survivors. Since then, the response has continued as our team has worked with local volunteers and partners to rebuild or replace 29 homes — all of which include a storm shelter.

“We have great partners in the area who have been vital to our recovery work, like LifeChurch.tv and the United Way of Central Oklahoma,” says Donaldson. “We appreciate their willingness to step up and help others during their time of need.”

In 2016, the team plans to serve at least 10 more households in need of being rebuilt, replaced or repaired.
