Communities across the Mid-South are dealing with significant flooding after a weekend of constant rain that overflowed rivers and even triggered a mudslide. In Jasper, Arkansas, a mudslide took out one of the community’s water treatment facilities. Convoy of Hope deployed a truckload full of bottled water so the community has access to clean water while their city officials work to get the facility running again.
Convoy is also on the ground in Frankfurt and Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and Mammoth Spring, Hardy, and Thayer, Arkansas, assessing needs and working with partners to distribute relief supplies.
As rivers crest and floodwaters begin to recede, the needs in these communities continue to grow. Convoy is actively communicating with partners on the ground and working with them to meet the urgent needs of those impacted.
In most communities, the biggest needs are cleaning supplies and water. Cleaning is the first step in reclaiming living spaces after floods — making homes livable again and helping people regain a sense of normalcy and control.

Several rounds of severe weather and heavy rains have moved through multiple states still reeling from the violent storms and tornadoes earlier this spring.
Severe thunderstorms swept through a swath of the country affecting 2.3 million people from northeast Texas through Arkansas and into southeast Missouri.
Rainfall amounts reached over 15 inches in some areas, overflowing rivers and lakes and causing widespread flooding. Some rivers still haven’t crested.
In communities like Clarksville, Tennessee, families whose homes were flooded just over a month ago found floodwaters sweeping into their homes again.
Van Buren, Missouri, is still recovering from tornado damage from a recent storm system. The days of rain and flooding exacerbated an already devastating situation.
Convoy of Hope is en route to the impacted areas. Essential supplies such as food, water, cleanup kits, paper towels, sports drinks, and more have been dispatched from our World Distribution Center and will serve communities in need across the Mid-South.
