Convoy of Hope’s World Distribution Center is located in Springfield, Missouri, which is also the birthplace and headquarters of one of America’s largest outdoor retailers — Bass Pro Shops.
According to Convoy of Hope President Hal Donaldson, a strong partnership has developed between the two organizations. The result, he says, has been tens of thousands of people being helped in the U.S. and around the world.
“Bass Pro Shops is a strategic partner,” says Donaldson, noting that Bass Pro Shops was a key partner in helping bring aid to the residents of Joplin, Missouri, in May 2011 after a deadly tornado devastated the city. “I can’t thank Bass Pro Shops enough for everything they’ve done to help us help those who are suffering.”
After a deadly typhoon struck the Philippines late last year, Bass Pro Shops donated tarps for survivors, many who saw their homes destroyed by the storm. The retailer also sent volunteers and supplies to Moore, Oklahoma, after that community was hit by a large tornado.
“Bass Pro Shops is proud to be a partner with Convoy of Hope,” says Martin MacDonald, Bass Pro Shops Spokesman. “We salute the goal of Convoy of Hope, which is to ‘bring help to those who are impoverished, hungry or hurting.’”
