Convoy of Hope Responds to Historic, Dangerous Flooding in Indiana

SPRINGFIELD, MO (August 14, 2026) — Convoy of Hope is responding as communities across Indiana face historic and dangerous flooding following several days of severe weather.

The crisis was capped by an extraordinary amount of rainfall, with some areas receiving up to 10 inches of rain in a single 24-hour period. As floodwaters rapidly rose, Indiana’s governor declared an official disaster emergency to mobilize state resources and support affected communities.

The National Weather Service also issued rare Flash Flood Emergencies across multiple counties, underscoring the immediate threat to life and property.

Families have experienced devastating losses, including flooded homes, damaged or destroyed vehicles and ruined belongings. At least seven people are reported dead and hundreds remain displaced.

Convoy of Hope is delivering much-needed supplies to support families impacted by the flooding. Relief efforts will include shelf-stable food and water, cleanup kits, and other essential items as communities begin the difficult process of recovering.

As conditions continue to develop, Convoy of Hope is working to provide for the needs and deliver essential relief to families affected by the historic flooding.
