Convoy of Hope Responds as Nevada Wildfire Forces Mass Evacuations

SPRINGFIELD, MO (August 24, 2026) — Convoy of Hope is responding to the fast-moving Hawk Fire in Nevada by sending essential relief supplies and water to help first responders and families forced to flee their homes as the blaze continues to threaten communities near Reno.

Nearly 90,000 residents have already evacuated or been told to prepare to evacuate, leaving behind homes and personal belongings as the wildfire spreads through the region. The fire remains 0% contained, fueled by dry and windy conditions, and approximately 15,000 acres have already been burned. 

As families face uncertainty about when they will be able to return home, Convoy of Hope is working to deliver hope and help to first responders, survivors and communities impacted by the devastating wildfire. 

There is currently no timeline for evacuated residents to return as firefighters continue working around the clock to protect lives, homes and businesses from the rapidly evolving threat.
