Amid Pandemic, Convoy Responds to Louisiana Tornado

USA Reported by Convoy of Hope

Convoy of Hope is responding to storm damage that occurred throughout the Southeast U.S. on Easter Sunday. Information regarding the storm is coming to light as local officials update damage reports today. Early indications show concentrated damage in and around Monroe, Louisiana, with 200 to 300 homes damaged or destroyed.

Convoy of Hope is resourcing the area with cleanup supplies through one of our regional warehouses. Due to the amount of damage, we will be deploying a Disaster Services team and additional supplies from our World Distribution Center today. Our team will link up with regional staff, who are in the process of identifying a local hub for distribution.

Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, appropriate personal protective equipment will be provided to local partners and volunteers assisting in distribution efforts.

We will continue to make updates as information becomes available via this web page and our official social media accounts.
